Welcome to my website
I am a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist and Jungian Analyst currently living in the UK and offering online adult individual psychotherapy and analysis to patients across the world, as well as supervision to psychologists, psychotherapists and training candidates in Jungian analysis.
Psychotherapy & Jungian analysis
I offer both short- and long-term psychotherapy to adults seeking help for a variety of reasons- feeling overwhelmed by difficult feelings, behaving in ways they cannot understand nor control, worrying patterns in their relationships, loss and grief, stress and burnout at work, feelings of being stuck and bored with their lives, midlife crises, struggling to integrate past traumas into their lives, amongst others.
Psychotherapy clients generally meet me weekly for 50-55 minute sessions or twice weekly for extra support as needed. Depending on the nature and longevity of the problem, clients generally stay from 6 months to a number of years.
Jungian analysis is an in-depth, long-term commitment and analysands generally attend sessions at least twice weekly. This type of work looks at deep and enduring transformation of the personality, although it often starts with a more commonplace problem.
In practice, psychotherapy and analysis dove-tail and clients attending once weekly, working deeply over a long period of time, often reap just as much benefit as analysands. As therapy costs rise, psychotherapy is becoming a necessary choice for many.
In both cases, I do not think that therapy should guarantee things like easy solutions, ‘happiness’, and other quick fixes. The symptoms that we are desperate to get rid of are often messengers from the psyche, wanting some deeper response from us. What I would hope for as a depth therapist is that as we navigate the delicate emergence of your unique story, you will start to feel more alive, more real, both more vulnerable and more robust as you consciously weave all the textures and hues into the unfolding tapestry of this one precious life.
“Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.”
Rainer Maria Rilke
Supervision
I hope to offer supervisees a reflective, challenging and relational space in which to explore the development of their unique working identities at the interface with theory and the professional boundaries and analytic frame incumbent on my work.
My own work is grounded in Jungian and post-Jungian theory, object relations and relational psychoanalysis- and I am most comfortable working with supervisees who feel at home in this lineage.
In addition to this, I am interested in helping supervisees discovering their own voice, finding ways to practice their craft that makes them feel real and alive in their work.
“The analyst you become is you and you alone: you have to respect the uniqueness of your personality - that is what you use, not all these interpretations.”
W. R. Bion, Clinical Seminars, 1987
Clinical Psychologist
My first training was as a clinical psychologist and it gives me a solid grounding in psychopathology and clinical diagnoses in the event that a client would need referrals for medication or other specialist services.
However, I work primarily as a psychotherapist and do not take on new emergency or crisis work unless the client is already in an ongoing therapeutic relationship with me.
