COVID 19 Custody Battle

A mother from Johannesburg is fighting a desperate legal battle after her 2 year old son who was taken away from her because she tested positive for Covid-19. The father brought an application for temporary custody of the toddler. The parents will now share custody of the boy, without any forensic investigations having been performed. Furthermore the mother had previously obtained a protection order against the father in April of this year!

There is no basis in law to justify the court’s decision which will now set an extremely dangerous precedent!
